Eat Out: Crosstown Doughnuts, Brick Lane London

Crosstown Doughnuts opened their second Doughnut and Coffee bar in London just over a month ago on Brick Lane. Situated in the middle of the two famous and well known London beigel shops and only a short walk from both Liverpool Street and Shoreditch High Street stations there’s no excuse not to pop in after a dinner or some vintage shopping. And if you do have an excuse they deliver!

The Brick Lane permanent branch has their full-range of infamous sourdough Doughnuts available including Matcha Tea, Lamnut, and Peanut Butter Berry. As well as the more traditional flavours of Raspberry Jam, Cinnamon Sugar and Vanilla Glazed. Unfortunately I got here quite late in the day and despite it being a Tuesday they’d already sold out of some of the more unusual flavours. As it was my first Crosstown experience I kept it simple and went for the classic Vanilla Glazed and Raspberry Jam.

This was a Raspberry Jam doughnut like no other! The sweet and homemade raspberry jam oozed out of the doughnut and with your first bite including freeze dried raspberries the flavour really punched you in the mouth – in a good way! The Vanilla Glazed was deliciously sticky and sweet like a Krispy Kreme on steroids.

The ever-changing seasonal doughnuts are also on offer and with coffee from Caravan Coffee Roasters it’s a great place to sit down and take five in this busy and bustling part of the city.
