Eat Out: Sami’s Peanut Butter Jelly Departure, Bea’s at Farringdon

So it is with sadness that I write Sami left us last week and is on to pastures new in terms of her career, but before she left I got invited into the clique and was given the chance to try one of hers and the girls guilty pleasures. Bea’s of Bloomsbury at Farringdon is right next to the mainline and tube station and has a shop window adorned with tempting but naughty looking treats. Many a time I have walked past this takeaway cake boutique purposely looking in the opposite direction, even striking up conversation with the charity volunteers or Gymbox promotion staff, anything to stop myself walking in as I knew there would be no going back! Their Peanut Butter Jelly Slices have been topic of conversation around the office for some time and when I tried one I instantly understood why.

Quite simply this slice consists of a shortbread base, topped with jam, then peanut butter and finished with a crumble topping.  But oh my it is so much more! The cinnamon crumble topping mixed with the salty peanut butter, sweet jam and buttery base is guilt beyond its wildest dreams. Crispy, soft and sticky not only does your mouth go on a taste journey but a texture one too. But even for a food fiend like myself I had to share my slice around and not because it was too sickly sweet or I didn’t want to eat it all but because I needed to share the love and let others try it!

Bea’s Cake Boutique prides itself on quality and premium cakes, pastries, afternoon tea and coffee’s across London.  With stores in Bloomsbury, St Paul’s and Farringdon as well as a range of gluten free baked goods I’m not sure how I’ve not found this gem before now!

Don’t worry you can thank me later 😉
