Eat In: Easter Chocolate Nests

Chocolate nests were a tradition growing up at Easter time and something Mum and I always used to make together without fail every year.  But in more recent years these have been replaced by shop bought nests probably for both ease and slightly out of laziness. So when we failed to find any in Asda yesterday we decided it was time to bring back the tradition, and Mum and I found ourselves in the kitchen for ten minutes the night before Easter Sunday licking melted chocolate off our fingers, snacking on marshmallows and pinching mini eggs!

Ingredients – makes 10

150g milk chocolate for baking

30g unsalted butter

2 tbsp runny honey

90g cornflakes

mini marshmallows

Mini Eggs

  1. Break chocolate up into small pieces in a microwaveable bowl and heat for 30 seconds at a time stirring until melted
  2. Add butter and honey and return to microwave for 30 seconds to melt and stir
  3. Add cornflakes and stir until covered in the melted chocolate mixture
  4.  Stir in marshmallows
  5. Spoon chocolate cornflakes into cupcake cases and top with mini eggs
  6. Refrigerate overnight if possible or for 2-3 hours until set

One of the simplest yet satisfying things to throw together in ten minutes and leave to set, Happy Easter all! 🐥
